Whether you’re a seasoned waterfowler or brand new to duck hunting, our guided hunts deliver the full Florida experience—early mornings in the blind, birds working the spread, and a smooth, organized trip from start to finish.

We hunt Crystal River and the surrounding Nature Coast, and we’ll also adjust to conditions and scouting reports in select Central Florida lakes and marshes when that’s the best play. Your guide, Captain Louie, keeps it laid-back and dialed-in—good communication, safe setups, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like part of the crew.

What to Expect on a Central Florida Duck Hunt

Our duck hunting trips are built around scouting, weather, and migration patterns. That means we’ll choose the right water on the right day—then handle the details so you can focus on the hunt.

Depending on conditions and your goals, we may target:

  • Coastal and saltwater zones for sea ducks (Redheads, Bluebills, Buffleheads, Scoters)
  • Freshwater lakes and marshes for Florida ducks (Mottled Ducks, Ringnecks, Teal, Whistling Ducks)

Arrival & Orientation (Evening Before the Hunt)

Your trip starts the evening before your first hunt. Once you’re settled in, we’ll grab dinner and go over the plan for the morning in a relaxed, no-rush setting:

  • Weather and wind direction
  • Current scouting notes and duck movement
  • Species you’re targeting
  • Gear check, clothing tips, and what to expect in the blind
  • Safety, shooting zones, and communication in the setup

You’ll go to sleep knowing exactly what’s happening in the morning; no surprises, just a clean game plan.

Day 1 – Morning Duck Hunt

We’ll be up well before sunrise, with coffee ready and the plan already set. After a short drive or boat ride (depending on the location), you’ll be in position and settled before first light.

Captain Louie handles:

  • Decoy spreads and blind setup
  • Calling strategy (and adjustments as birds change)
  • Bird identification and shot opportunities
  • Retrieval (and dog work by request, when available)

After the hunt, we’ll head back, take care of the birds, and get you reset for the rest of the day.

Day 2 – Second Morning Hunt

Day two is all about adapting. We can return to the most productive water from Day 1 or change locations based on movement, weather shifts, and your goals. The objective is simple: put you in the best spot for the conditions and make it another strong morning.

Departure

After your final hunt, you’ll have time to clean up, pack up, and head home with birds in the cooler and stories that tend to get better every time they’re told. If you tag something special, we can also help coordinate taxidermy options.

What is Provided:

  • Guided duck hunts with scouting-based location selection
  • Transportation to the hunt area (boat or vehicle, as needed)
  • Decoys and setup
  • Calling and hunt management
  • Bird retrieval and basic bird care / cleaning process

What to Bring:

  • Proper hunting license/stamps for waterfowl (we’ll help you confirm what you need)
  • Shotgun and non-toxic ammunition (required for waterfowl)
  • Camo layers for cold mornings + rain gear
  • Waders/boots (depending on conditions)
  • Hat, gloves, face covering, and eye/ear protection
  • Drinks, snacks, and a small cooler if you like
  • A good attitude for early mornings and changing weather

All hunts are conducted during legal seasons and follow Florida waterfowl regulations and safe-shooting practices.
